Happy Hyberbole! ~ 11 Dec 2015

Nope, it’s not happy holidays, even though Chanukah is underway while Christmas, Kwanzaa and the Day of Epiphany (when the wise men supposedly arrived at the manger) lie just beyond the time/date horizon. It’s a celebration of the two largest objects in the solar system squaring off.

The Sun, the biggest and grandest body in our realm now inches toward a tense alignment with the largest planet, Jupiter. In the realm of “being felt” now influence, the square achieves exactitude next Monday. Since both objects are huge, everything they do is large, over the top, grandiose, bold, bombastic, definitively declarative, right and righteous, rich in solipsism, self-referential and imposing. If executed without charm, vision, thoughtfulness and compassion, the energy is downright annoying and overbearing.

The Sun in Sagittarius, just knows everyone needs to know what it thinks. If not convinced in one’s proclamations, declarations come off as weak, ill-founded, attention-seeking and not exactly rich in maturity or accuracy. Then again, if someone offers truly visionary insights, they resonate and are more easily accepted even if they present opposing views or differing consciousness.

Jupiter in Virgo loves facts and details. In fact, if proclaiming correctness, “facts” may be cast about with great abandon. With a society overstimulated by information and ease of fact-checking, ironically, sometimes facts are not checked. However, this is a Sun square Jupiter. You can take it to the bank that if you make a factual declaration to support a platform, claim, agenda or to establish the appearance of importance, the facts will get checked. If correct, you win. If incorrect, there’s explaining to do, most likely in the form of back-peddling justifications and rationalizations.

I recall a recent conversation overheard between an arrogant Sagittarian Englishman and a cosmic muse with a well-placed Jupiter. The Englishman was going on about Captain Cook exploring the south seas to expand the British Empire. The muse contended that Captain Cook’s journey in the Southern Hemisphere was an expedition to track to passage of Venus across the face of the Sun. An observing third-party, weary of the Englishman’s zealous exposition of world domination, did a smart phone fact check. Muse 1, Arrogant Empire Building Fan 0. To save face, the Englishman went on about the status of India, spices and trade winds. You gotta reclaim dignity in the face of being corrected, or so it is believed.

Jupiter and Sagittarius refer to religious freedom, cultural appreciation, immigration and refugees, and tolerance at large. In the past days, the Sun in Sag engaged the Great Attractor in space. As the last Sky Scraping noted, the Great Attractor with its emanation in all known frequencies, demands tolerance and compassion for all. Evidently, Donald Trump does not subscribe to Sky Scraping.

What’s a conscious being to do in such a time of Jupiterian enthusiasm, activated by the Sun to reach for greater knowledge not wishing to fall into the slings and arrows of hyperbole?

First, make a list of every belief you’d like to eliminate from your life. When done, tear the list up and bury or burn it.

Next, make a list of the creed of consciousness you wish to carry forward from this year into next. Recite it until in reverberates in your marrow and resonates with your soul.

Draw up a list of your personal skills, talents, attributes and cool things about who you are. Get to know these intimately.

Whenever urged to offer an opinion, do so confidently, knowing that you are not seeking to throttle your ideas down the throat and into the gullet of another.

Keep in mind other people believe what they believe. So do you. Would you change your mind about something your heart was set upon, or that you adopted into every cell of your being? Would you do so if someone demanded you recant and accept their views? Would you do so if someone presented you with a logical outline of why your belief contains flaws? Would you do so if the emotion of a moment overwhelmed your sensibilities?

Affirm your receptivity, objectivity and open-mindedness. Go for the “all souls are aboard Spaceship Earth, heading toward the same unknown agenda in the Big Plan” view to affirm your personal sense of tolerance.

Remember that there is an intrinsic rule of threes in Virgo. For every “situation” you care to address, offer three possible suggestions (better if you’re invited to contribute) before stating what is perceived as the problem.

Be cool. Be smart. Be a living, breathing personification of clear-thinking, full mental deployment, and a blend of the logical track of Virgo with the far-reaching consciousness of Sagittarius. You know, despite the crowds and the shameless hype, it may not be a bad idea to check out the new Star Wars movie during the holidays. What’s the subtitle, again? The Force Awakens.

Seems that if the force awakened, stimulated by clear logic and inspired contemplation, and stated with the objective of awakening an electronically numbed planet, both Sun in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Virgo would be most pleased.

Here’s to consciousness breakthroughs and “getting the galactic groove on” in such a big way it could not possibly be articulated... it would just have to emanate from one’s being.

More soon.
